TL;DR: EveryStem is a good $25 recipe tool. The gaps are real and they're by design: no invoice parsing, no proposal builder, no inventory tracking. If those are eating your week, it's worth knowing what else exists.
EveryStem Alternative: What Florists Are Missing
First, the obvious: EveryStem is good. Built by a florist. $25 a month. The Reddit threads about florist software almost always end with someone saying "use EveryStem." That's earned.
This post isn't a takedown.
But after talking with florists who've used it a season or two, the same gaps come up over and over. They're not bugs. They're scope decisions EveryStem made on purpose. If those gaps are costing you Tuesday mornings or eating your margin, it's worth knowing what else is out there.
What EveryStem does well
EveryStem is recipe building and wholesale order management. Specifically:
- Recipe pricing. Enter your stems, quantities, and costs. It calculates hard cost and markup. - Event consolidation. Combine multiple arrangements into one purchase list, rounded to bunch sizes. - Dual markup rates. Different markup for hard goods vs. florals. Most tools miss this. - Item swap. Sub a flower across an entire recipe in one click. - Library updates. Bulk price changes across every event using that stem.
At $25/month flat, it's the most florist-native recipe tool out there. If your main pain is pricing discipline and order math, EveryStem solves it.
Where EveryStem stops short
The gaps aren't hidden. The marketing literally says "the perfect partner to your CRM." They built it to plug into other tools, not replace them.
No invoice parsing. This is the big one. The wholesale PDF arrives and you retype every line by hand. Flower name, color, stems per bunch, price per bunch. EveryStem expects you to keep a manual inventory current. Two invoices a week = 90–100 hours of typing a year.
No proposal builder. EveryStem doesn't touch client-facing documents. You quote inside the tool, then open Canva or HoneyBook or a Word template to build the actual proposal. Two documents, neither connected. When the bride wants to swap a centerpiece, you update both. Separately.
No inventory tracking. EveryStem knows what's in your recipes. It doesn't know what's on your shelves. No live link between what you ordered and what you've used. Overbuying stays a gut call.
No AI. No stem suggestions, no cost automation, no image generation. The math is right, but every input is manual.
No arrangement previews. Most florists are still pasting Pinterest boards into their proposal emails. EveryStem has image link fields, not generated previews.
How the pricing actually shakes out
| Tool | Price | Invoice Parsing | Proposal Builder | AI | |---|---|---|---|---| | EveryStem | $25/mo | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | | Petal Studio Solo | $29/mo | ✅ | 🔜 Sprint 4 | ✅ | | Fiory.AI | $138/mo | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ (image recognition) | | Curate | $275/mo | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ (broken chatbot) |
That $4 difference between EveryStem and Petal Studio Solo buys AI invoice parsing (the thing that kills the retyping problem), plus live inventory and stem suggestions.
And if you're paying for EveryStem and a separate CRM (HoneyBook is $39 minimum), your stack is $64+ for two tools that don't talk to each other. Petal Studio at $29 puts the recipe and the inventory in one place.
Who should stay on EveryStem
If your workflow is working, if data entry isn't burning your week, and if you don't need a proposal builder or live inventory, EveryStem is doing its job. Don't switch software for the sake of switching.
But if Tuesday mornings are gone to invoice retyping. If your proposals live in a Canva file disconnected from your actual costs. If you don't know whether a wedding was profitable until the flowers are already in the cooler. Those are the exact problems Petal Studio was built for.
EveryStem is a great starting point. Petal Studio is what comes after.
